HAL5's next free public program will take place at the Huntsville-Madison County Main Public Library's Main Auditorium in Downtown Huntsville on Thursday, June 7 at 7 pm. Mr. David Smitherman, Technical Manager, NASA MSFC Advanced Concepts Office, will be speaking to us about "Space Transportation Infrastructure Supported By Propellant Depots." Mr. Smitherman's talk will be focused on a possible future space transportation infrastructure concept that uses propellant depots as a means to support reusable in-space transportation systems. The talk titled "Space Transportation Infrastructure Supported By Propellant Depots" is from published work with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

The event is free and open to the general public. A social will follow.

In addition, we will have our annual officers' election. All positions are up for grab. There is no nominating committee, so if you are interested, just email us at the link on the bottom of the page and we will put your name on the ballot or you can show up in person. The position is for 1 year starting July 1. You must be a current HAL5 member at time of the election. Membership in the National Space Society, our parent organization is preferred but not required. The positions are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Education Outreach, Membership and Publicity.
