John Pazmino author of our monthly SpaceWalk reviews the recent event "New Trends In Astrodynamics" conference that he was a speaker at. click here to read At our June Chapter meeting the BOD voted to fill the positions of President and Vice President. Welcome to Harold Egeln as our new chapter President and to Manny Pimenta as our chapter Vice President. They will hold these positions until the end of the existing term August 2005 to August 2007 at which time there will be a general chapter membership vote for a new or continuing Board. Stephen will address the international issues involved with space, and the many legal considerations involved in launching a vehicle into space, including:
Rights of way Liability for damage Pollution in space Imaging the Earth Astronauts in distress War and military use of space Commercial use of space Communication satellites Exploiting space resources Stephen Lieber is an amateur astronomer and co-founder of NYSkies Astronomy, Inc. For many years he has helped to organize astronomical observing at Brooklyn's Floyd Bennett Field. When not studying international space law, Lieber is often found using his 17.5" f5.5 Newtonian telescope, the largest telescope ever made in New York City.
