Murray
has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the
University of Houston and works as a Materials Manager for
Champion Technologies, Inc. in the Oil & Gas Industry. He has
been the President of the Clear Lake (Houston) chapter since
1998, and participated heavily in bringing the International
Space Development Conference to Houston, Texas back in 1999.
Murray has been an active space enthusiast since 1954.

Founded in 1992, the Clear Lake (Houston) chapter of the
Nation Space Society is dedicated to ensuring a space-faring
society becomes a reality sooner rather than later. As Houston
is Mission Control to all NASA space ventures, our local
chapter is mission control for space activism. We plan,
coordinate, and operate various space-related projects in the
local areas designed to educate the public about space, the
planets, latest technologies, and what man has to gain from
venturing beyond Earth's orbit.

Co-founded
(with Rich Kolker who now lives in Florida) the Clear Lake
Area-Houston chapter of NSS in 1992. She is the current chapter
treasurer, and the assignments editor for Ad Astra, the magazine
of the National Space Society, chairman of the Space Books
Committee (see
www.nss.org/books), and a member of the NSS Policy
Committee. She joined the L-5 Society (that became NSS) in 1977
while serving as a congressional intern in D.C. Dyson earned a
degree in physics from UNC-G and came to Houston to attend
graduate school in space physics at Rice University. She left
Rice for an opportunity to became one of NASA's first ten women
flight controllers, working as an FAO during the early shuttle
program. Dyson left NASA to raise her children, and shares her
passion for space through writing and speaking. She has
published five nonfiction books, including Space Station Science
that won the Golden Kite Award and has been translated into
Arabic, Korean, and Spanish. Her book, Home on the Moon won the
prestigious American Institute of Physics science writing award.
Dyson served on the NSS board of directors for more than ten
years, and as the Society secretary and vice president of public
affairs. She chaired the 1999 ISDC hosted by the Clear Lake Area
chapter. For more information, visit her website at
